“Bees almost never follow the rules laid down for them by their tenders. Beekeepers are forever grumbling about ‘those damned bees.’ But we have only ourselves to fault because we wrote the book, not the bees. We created our own false expectations.”
— The Queen Must Die
William Longgood (1985)
It has taken me three years to discovery the truth in this statement. Like tending defensive bees (just do, don’t think) I would like to add “just do, don’t read and believe it”!
Rusty – LOL!
The theme of our last beekeepers’ meeting was “Remember, the bees ain’t read the book.”
The author brings a human quality to bees. It’s my belief that God made these amazing creatures a little bit more special.
